About Nancy
I was lucky enough to grow up with a father who was passionate about gardening. I was raised in upstate New York, surrounded by a beautiful garden full of vegetables, fruit trees, herbs and flowers--and as a child, my favorite thing in the world was to pick the vegetables for dinner and the flowers to fill up the house. (Okay, that still might be my favorite thing to do in the world).
I moved to California over 30 years ago, and am still constantly amazed by the year-round climate and beautiful things that I can grow here. I decided to follow through on my dreams and passions, studying design and horticulture at UCLA, and then opening Nancy Lyons Garden Design in 1998.
It is now one of the great pleasures in my life to bring beautiful, sustainable outdoor living spaces to my clients, which they get to enjoy for years to come.
